Edgerton House: Episcopal Campus Ministry

Edgerton House, fondly known as the Edge, is home to the Episcopal Campus Ministry at Dartmouth. It is an open Christian community, and while it is supported by St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Hanover, people of all faith traditions (or none at all!) are welcome at the Edge. We join together for a variety of prayer and worship, theological discussion, service and fellowship. We are very lucky to have our own building, which is open 24/7 for studying, hanging out with friends, making music, napping, impromptu dance parties, and anything else you feel like.

During the term, we sponsor various weekly events:

  • Sundays: Eucharist service at 5pm in the Jonathan Daniels Chapel at the Edge
  • Mondays: Theology on Tap at 9pm at the Canoe Club (the restaurant, not Ledyard!)
  • Tuesdays: Taizé Contemplative Prayer, 8pm in the Jonathan Daniels Chapel at the Edge
  • Wednesdays: Community dinners with guest speakers at 6pm at the Edge

Students are also always welcome at St. Thomas Church’s weekly services and events!  Sunday morning services are at 8am (Rite I, more traditional language, no singing) and 10am (Rite II, more modern language, and with music).  There are also other prayer groups, Bible studies, etc. going on at St. Thomas. Check out their website or contact us for more information.

How to find us:

Edgerton House is located at 14 School Street. Starting at Collis, walk west on Wheelock (toward the river) and take the first left onto School Street (Sigma Delt and the Christian Science Reading Room are on the corner). We’re on the left at the end of the second block, across from Panarchy and just before the parking garage. Look for a big brick and white house with a red door.

St. Thomas Episcopal Church is at 9 West Wheelock Street. Again, start at Collis and walk toward the river. It’s just down the street, between Theta Delt and Psi U. It’s the one with the big red door.
